Press Release: ONE-NET announced today that it is releasing a new version of its ground-breaking open-source wireless protocol. ONE-NET Version 1.5 marks the evolution of the protocol from a proof-of-concept technology to a robust, production-ready software.

“What started as a revolutionary vision by a group of engineers in Petaluma, CA has now evolved into a protocol that can truly change the way we live” stated Kevin Cotter, ONE-NET’s director of alliance development.

Roger Meadows, ONE-NET’s principal engineer added “ONE-NET Version 1.5 is the foundation of where we go from here, as care was taken to make the software forward compatible with planned enhancements.”

ONE-NET 1.5 features a number of new commands that make implementation and debugging easier for developers; including a LIST command that defines the state of a device in either a master or client configuration. The Evaluation Board code in this release is more configurable as compile time switches are used to enable or disable some commands and a variety of debugging features.

Source code and documentation for ONE-NET Version 1.5 can be downloaded from the official ONE-NET website at http://www.one-net.info.

The ONE-NET wireless standard is the world’s foremost multi-vendor, open-source wireless control protocol. ONE-NET was specifically optimized for home control applications and includes important features such as integrated peer-to-peer operation. It also features a high level of security, excellent range, and low power consumption. ONE-NET’s comprehensive design specification is distributed royalty-free, accelerating the availability and use of wireless connectivity in a wide variety of devices and applications.
